Temperature-compensated quartz oscillators (TCXOs) are clock generators that produce a very stable frequency regardless of temperature fluctuations. Such a temperature-compensated quartz oscillator uses the mechanical resonance of a quartz crystal to generate a precise frequency, which is, however, influenced by temperature changes. To achieve improved frequency stability, TCXOs use a technique called temperature compensation to reduce the temperature-dependent frequency variation of the quartz crystal itself.

The past financial year was characterized by economic challenges in the electronics industry worldwide. This was also reflected in the discussions at electronica in Munich in November.
